4 Awesome Easter Crafts To Do With Your Kids – https://goholidaygift.com
Easter makes me think of all things Spring. Spring, well, it makes me think of beautiful pastel colors! With that I associate fresh smells and sunny days. It also makes me think of rain! Which makes me think of different crafts that can be done inside on those days that the rain won’t go away. So here you have it: four Easter crafts to do with your kids; on rainy days of course!
Easter Egg Buttons:
Remember those pastel colors I spoke of? Well, this craft is great for bringing those colors to life. It was also fairly quick and easy enough that even I could do it.
What you will need:
White construction or printing paper
Buttons (the amount will depend on the size craft you want to do. We started with 50. We also used pastel colors–each color we tried to use four different shades. *dark purple, light purple, pale purple, glitter purple, etc.. We also used three to four different colors per egg. )
Glue (regular or glue gun–we used both)
Pencil
Instructions:
I started off by sketching an egg in pencil on my white paper. I then sectioned off my egg in 3 or 4 different sections (top was smaller, middle was bigger, bottom was smaller). Once you do that you are ready to glue your buttons. You want to make sure you have enough buttons to cover each section. Once you cover the first section, you can add more buttons to it by overlapping a few. This gives it a fuller look. Then just repeat those steps until your egg is covered in buttons. Let it dry and you’re all done.
*These are cute hung up or put in a frame.
Pastel Painted Egg Cartons:
This was a very fun craft. We actually ditched the traditional basket and used these to put our eggs in after hunting. Be aware that Styrofoam cartons will work, but it is best to use cardboard style oldercartons for this.
What you will need:
Egg Cartons (number will depend on how many you want to make).
Paint (colors of your choosing).
Paint brushes (a few big and a few smaller).
Markers (colors of your choosing).
Instructions:
Paint the egg carton(s) the color(s) of your choice and let them dry. Once they dry you can either paint designs on them or you can draw designs with the markers. Once that’s done, let them dry and you have your new ‘baskets’.
Easter Egg Wreath:
This craft turned out to be very cute. It is easy and doesn’t take much time at all.
What you will need:
Paper plate(s)
Colored paper (Spring or Easter themed paper works best, but not a requirement).
Glue
Ribbon
Scissors
Cookie Cutter (oval will work-egg-shaped may work better for you though).
Instructions:
Start by cutting out the center of the plate. This should leave the rimmed “outside” of the plate in tact. Next, place your cookie cutter on your paper ( if using themed paper, turn the paper over) and trace the inside of the cutter.*Repeat this step until you have enough eggs to cover the rim of the plate. Cut the eggs out and glue them to the backside of the plate. Cut a piece of ribbon to make a small bow. Glue the bow to the top of the wreath (around the middle of your first egg). Cut a longer piece of ribbon and form a loop. Glue the two end pieces to the back (which is technically the front because we turned it over) of the plate. Now you are all set to hang your wreath.
Tin Foil Eggs:
This was by far the easiest of the crafts. It took the least amount of time as well, but they ended up super cute!
What you will need:
Cardboard
Aluminum Foil
Cookie Cutter (oval works fine, but an egg shaped may work better).
Markers
Instructions:
Trace the inside of the cookie cutter onto cardboard. Cut out the egg and tear off some tin foil. *We did the tear-off method and cut around our cardboard egg method. Both worked equally well. Wrap the foil over the front of the cut-out, making sure to fold the excess onto the back. Use markers to draw designs on the front of the tin foil. Easy peasy.
As I mentioned, rainy days make for great craft days. Most of these crafts can be used with everyday household items. If you don’t have the items, try stocking up on a few of them to have them on hand. Here’s to spring and all things pastel!
