If you are anything like myself, Valentine’s Day is tough. If you aren’t like me and you are wondering why it is so tough, I can sum it up with one word: crafts. That’s right! I am not a crafty person. Having kids and doing crafty things kind of go hand in hand. Fortunately for me (and now you), I have crafty friends! Here’s an awesome list of four easy Valentine’s Day crafts that even people such as myself can make.
Heart Stick Figures
Heart stick figures are not only easy to make, they are also adorable. An added bonus is they aren’t expensive to make and most of the stuff you may already have on hand.
What you will need:
Popsicle sticks
Construction paper (pink, white, red)
Glitter
Glue
Craft Pom-Pom balls
Craft eyes *optional
Scissors
To start this craft simply cut out different sized hearts from the different colored construction paper. Glue the hearts to the popsicle sticks and let them dry. Once they are dried, spread some glue on the hearts, sprinkle glitter on it, and add your pom-pom balls. You can also glue the craft eyes at this time if you choose to use them. Let them sit and dry and you’re all done.
Love You to Pieces:
This craft is not time consuming at all. The hardest part is cutting the strips/pieces of construction paper. It is a lot of fun and very cute; especially for younger kids.
What you will need:
Construction paper (all colors)
Construction paper-white
Marker
Glue
Scissors
Take your different colored construction paper and cut each sheet into strips. Take the strips and cut them into different size pieces. Take you marker and write “ I love you to pieces” on the white sheet of construction paper. Now, simply glue the different colored pieces to the white sheet of paper. You can spread them out or make a cluster, it is all up to you. Once you get done placing the pieces just set out to dry and you’re done.
Bouquet of Hearts:
My youngest loves picking me flowers. Usually by February there really aren’t any to pick in the wild. This craft was a great way for her to be able to give me flowers and they are super cute.
What you will need:

Construction paper (all colors)
Marker
Pipe cleaner
Ribbon
Scissors
Easy peasy my fellow non-crafters: Cut out hearts from the colored construction paper. Glue them to the pipe cleaners (we used green for the “stems”). * I did substitute using an actual glue gun for that part, but I burned myself one too many times so I went back to the traditional method of glueing. Glue guns are optional should you choose that route.* Once they have dried gather them together in a bunch at the bottom and tie some ribbon around them to hold them in place. Once that’s done you have your bouquet.
Paper Plate Valentine’s Wreath:
For me this was the simplest of all the crafts. The hardest part was cutting the center of the plate out. Well, that and cutting the hearts so they actually looked like hearts!
What you will need:
Paper plate
Construction paper
Scissors
Glue
There’s two options for starting this craft: you can cut the center of the paper plate out first or you can do it last. If you choose first then you cut it out and move on to cutting out the different hearts from the different colored construction paper. (If you do it last, cut the hearts first). Make sure you cut different sized hearts. Once completed, just glue them around the rim of the paper plate. Overlapping the hearts is the key to making this particular craft work. If you choose to cut the center out last then that would be your next step. If not, you are all done.
Now that you have a few easy crafts to do with or even for, the kiddos, go out and conquer the craftiest of all crafty holidays! These are guaranteed to bring fun and enjoyment to anyone who tries them. Pretty sure they will bring lots of laughs, too. Especially if you burn yourself with the glue gun!
